The Orchard Barn (4* Gold), sits alone on the edge of the apple orchard and has beautiful south facing views down the Thrushell Valley. It is an open plan design upstairs and down with the two floors connected by a Victorian spiral staircase.
The bedroom ceiling oak beams are exposed and the stonework whitewashed to give a bright and airy feel. Flooring upstairs is wood with toasty underfloor heating and there is a standalone cast iron bath together with an enclosed toilet with stained glass window. There is no shower.
Downstairs has a fully fitted kitchen with modern washing machine, dishwasher, oven, microwave hob and fridge and a full set of crockery, cutlery, pots and pans. The cosy living area has a rustic leather sofa, chair and woodburning stove in addition to terracotta flooring with underfloor heating throughout.
The patio is large and has table and chairs, large Adirondack wooden seats and footstools as well as the Sundance Denali hot tub, big enough for four.

Orchard Barn was beautifully warm and comfortable. We loved the homemade cake, eggs, teas, coffee and a bottle of champagne.
A lovely touch to find a wrapped present on the doorstep on Christmas morning.
Our dogs enjoyed exploring and playing on the fields around the barns and swimming/ retrieving from the little river and they settled really well.
Absolutely spotless and so well equipped.
Will be hoping to visit again soon.
We have just returned from our second trip to these fantastic barns, made even more special with the addition of a hot tub – just what you need after walking miles over Dartmoor. Our dog Oscar had the time of his life with long walks and swimming everyday . We stayed in Orchard Barn which is fabulous, so cosy yet so special. All immaculately maintained inside and outside.
Thank you for making your barns so special, we look forward to returning soon.
We have just returned from a Zairean over New Year, we stayed in Orchard barn which was perfect. The barn was lovely and cosy with the underfloor heating and wood burner, and we were welcomed with scones, jam and cream when we arrived. We saw the New Year in sat in the hot tub which was perfect. Will definitely visit againxxx
Returning to a place is always a good sign, isn’t it? After having spent a fabulous Autumn holiday in Orchard Barn in September 2013 we have now had just perfect Christmas and New Year holidays at Meadow Barn – and it is already booked for this year!
We had brilliant weather for fantastic coastal walks with our dog. We found the most heartwarming hosts for the most wonderful time of the year. And we will be back. There is no more to say 
We stayed in Orchard Barn in December for my birthday and what a treat it was! Easy to get to from Bristol and easy to find. A relaxed check in with home made biscuits and mince pies waiting for us, was such a nice touch. The owners were friendly and left us to it which was perfect for a romantic escape. The hot tub was amazing with great sunset views across the countryside and we were lucky enough to enjoy a meteor shower one evening! It really was a perfect weekend. Thank you so much!
On arrival there was a lovely welcome of a cake, fresh flowers, home made apple juice and treats for our dog. This set the tone for a comfortable stay in the beautifully decorated barn, We could have spent the whole time enjoying the luxury of the hot tub, log burner and free standing bath but the beautiful Dartmoor and surrounding countryside needed exploring too . Sylvia was the perfect host, nothing was too much trouble and it was clearly important to her that we had the best time. We did.

Lovely barn and lots of thought gone into getting it ready for Christmas as in beautiful decorated tree, a bottle of champagne, homemade cake, milk in the fridge and eggs from their own hens. Lovely and warm due to underfloor heating and log burner.
Very comfy bed and great pillows. The barns are set in beautiful countryside and surrounding fields were great for walking my Labrador Leo, albeit rather wet one’s as the storms were going on over Christmas !. Sylvia has made it a magical place.

We stayed in Orchard Barn for our annual Christmas getaway. The barn is so cosy and the perfect place to unwind. It has everything we need and more with delicious homemade cake on arrival. Our dog loves it here with the river to swim in and fields to explore. We have stayed multiple times and the experience never lessens and each time we appreciate the barn and setting even more. Our Christmas would not be complete without a visit here.

We have just returned from a wonderful and relaxing stay at Orchard Barn. On arrival into the cosy barn, we were greeted by a sumptuous homemade cake and treats for our dog Daisy. During our stay, we enjoyed some lovely walks and explored the local area. Unwinding in the hot tub throughout our stay was a real luxury, not forgetting the nights curled up on the sofa in front of the log burner. Sylvia and Kristian were such wonderful hosts, thank you for having us. We hope to visit again soon.

Devon Country Barns are fantastic, this is our 3rd visit and certainly won’t be our last. The place is so peaceful, it is the perfect venue for a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. The big bonus for us, apart from the fabulous hot tub, is that our dogs are welcome, we have 4 and finding somewhere as lovely as this that welcomes more than 1 is very rare. The barns are all really well equipped too and the welcome bottle of wine, eggs (fresh from the hens and ducks on site) and flowers are lovely little added extras (we also had ice and a lemon waiting for us because I’d mentioned we would need a gin and tonic by the time we got there (6.5hr journey for us, but well worth it!!), how nice is that! Already looking forward to our next visit.
