Take a guided tour through the Victorian Brewery and experience the whole brewing process – find out about the secret spring that supplies their water and experience each step in creating the South West’s most popular beers. Their Visitor Centre has won a Silver award in the Green Tourism Business Scheme and was also Highly Commended at the 2014 South West Tourism Awards.

South Devon Chilli Farm

The South Devon Chilli Farm started in 2003 and has grown steadily to the point where they now grow over 10,000 chilli plants every year and harvest tons of fresh chillies which they sell fresh or use in their range of chilli sauces, chilli preserves (including their famous Chilli Jam) and their ever-growing range of chilli chocolate.

Their farm, cafe and shop are open to visitors all year round and you are free to wander among the fruiting chilli plants (Summer onwards), sample and buy all of the sauces, preserves and chocolate made on the farm and buy chilli seedlings (April/May) and plants (June onwards).

Dartmoor Zoo

Over 1000 creatures in 30 acres of beautiful Devon countryside, only 3 miles from Plymouth. This is a big cat conservation centre, with lions, tigers, jaguars, cheetahs, leopard, wolves, bears, and many other types of animal.  They have flying displays at the falconry (they also offer falconry courses) including Eagles, Falcons, Buzzards, Owls and Kestrels. Tamar Ottery

On your visit to the Tamar Otter & Wildlife Centre you will see British and Asian Short Clawed Otters playing and being fed close at hand – call ahead to find out feeding times.

There are Fallow Deer in a woodland enclosure and you will see Wallabies and Muntjac Deer roaming around the 21 acre grounds.

We have several Owl species and other birds of prey.

Enter the wildwood and you will come across Deer, Birds of Prey, Meerkats, Wallabies and Scottish Wildcats and eventually you will come across the tranquil quarry pool.

Lydford Gorge

Only 15mins from us, the gorge is an amazing place to visit at any time of the year. The wildlife, river, plants and trees provide a stunning show each and every day.

Dippers and wagtails can be seen flying low over the river, while woodland birds can be spotted darting about in the trees.

Bluebells and wild garlic provide a heady scent and patchwork quilt of green, white and blue in May. Throughout the spring and summer other wildflowers add to the array of colours from pink purslane to the yellows of primroses and buttercups. The trees provide a spectrum of colour from the bright greens of the spring to the rich reds, oranges and yellows of autumn.
